Known from Heimskringla. From the south of Iceland. Probable author of a guide in Icelandic for pilgrims to Rome and the Holy Land. Most of these poets are, however, fairly well-known figures, and so it is interesting to note where in Iceland they came from. The majority are familiar as court poets from the works of Snorri Sturluson and Morkinskinna , but the striking fact emerges that those who are not known from these sources all come from the west of Iceland.
